MY WORLD TUESDAY: BIRTHDAY AND VACATIONS

Hello my friends!

I'm glad i'm back.

I have so many news to share with you.

First of all, yesterday my baby, Antonia, had her 4th birthday.

We had a little party, only the family and her godparents.

The last days we were on summer vacations.

We went to Porto Heli, Peloponisos.

The first day of our holiday, the minute my husband was going with the suitcases to the car, he fell from the stairs and he sprained his leg.

You can imagine the holiday we had.

All the days he was lying down and i was with the three kids all day and nursing my hubby.

At least the kids had great time and enjoyed every minute.

The hotel we went, AKS HINITSA BAY, is a fantastic place and, among others, has a mini club for the kids.

The kids performed a play : "Snow white and the 15 dwarves".

There were many kids and they had to find a roll for all of them.

When we were on vacations, a new member joined our family.

My sister in law gave birth to a lovely baby boy.

I don't have a photo of him but believe me he is a sweet little baby.

But i have a photo from a cat which came at our back yard and gave birth to her five kittens.

The next couple of weeks will be a little hard for me.

My sister is going to have a therapy after the surgery and i will look after her kids.

I will be a mom of five for a few days.

MY WORLD TUESDAY: ART EXHIBITION

First of all i want to apologize to my blog friends because i didn't leave any comments the previous week.

My sister had a surgery and i had to look after five kids and two houses.

Thank God, she's getting better every day and she came back from the hospital today.

On Thursday i went with the kids to an art exhibition at our Town Hall.

To this exhibition were taking place all the departments of art and every peace of art was hand made.

and the department of traditional costumes and other traditional things of Salamina.

The kids loved to see their paintings on the wall among others.

It was their exhibition to the world.

MY WORLD TUESDAY: HOLIDAYS AT LAST !!!

YES!

The school year 2008-2009 is finally over.

From today is officially the holiday season for the kids.

And the parents, too.

No more study, morning awakening, driving to school, foreign school, painting lessons and dance lessons.

We are on holidays till September.

Now it's time for swimming, playing, sleeping and relaxing.

Last Thursday Alexandra's class performed a play for the human values and the care of the environment.

Kids and parents had so much fun.

Today the kids took from their teachers the paper of their advance, the degree to go to the next class.

Next year Antonia will go to the kindergarten.

But i don't want to think about it yet.

I have a whole Summer to get used to the idea.

MY WORLD TUESDAY: MY SECOND TIME AS A GODMOTHER

It's been a long time since i wrote a post.

But i wasn't in a very good mood lately.

For many reasons.

I wanted to write something happy for my next post.

And this happy event happened yesterday.

I became a godmother for the second time.

His name is Nikitas.

It wasn't the baptism of the twins.

This will be my third godchild and it's going to happen a little later.

The Baptism for the Greek Orthodox Church is a great Sacrament.

And for my family is a great blessing.

A godparent has to guide the child to the good of Jesus and into the family of the Church.

All the things that we do during the Baptism have their meaning and symbolism.

The olive oil (a symbol of healing and olive is the holy tree), the white garment (a symbol of purity), the candles and the taper ( a symbol of light in the new Christian's life), the triple immersion in the name of the Holy Trinity (like Jesus who rased from the water of Iordanis river), the cross which the priest places around the child's neck while repeating the words of Christ: "He who wishes to follow me, let him pick up his cross and follow me" and many many more symbolic things.

I bought very beautiful things for my godchild.

I decorated the church with flowers.

That's the little church we had the baptism.

And these are the presents that Nikita's parents gave to those who came to the baptism.

After the baptism, we celebrated to a Greek tavern with a lot of wine, food and music.
