ABC WEDNESDAY: O for ORLANDO, USA

Our four days trip to Orlando was amazing.

The first day we went to Universal Studios.

The second day we went to the Magic kingdom at Walt Disney World.
The kids loved it.
So did we.

The third day we went to Sea World.
Awesome place.

The last day of our trip, we visited the DinoWorld.

We learned so many things about dinosaurs.

We saw many other sights and we had dinner at the Burger King.

Unforgetable trip.

NATIONAL ANNIVERSARY OF WORLD WAR 2

Today is the Greek national celebration for the negative reply to the Italians when they demanded to take our country during the second world war.
This day is a national holiday.
The schools, the shops, everything are closed.

The pupils from schools, the army and many societies, do march past (παρέλαση), with the band playing the national hymn (εθνικός ύμνος) and the flags waveing all over the place.

My grandfather Dimitris, who lived in Crete, fought at this war.

I'm very proud of him.

My girls participated to this march past with the Cretan society of Salamina (Κρητικός σύλλογος Σαλαμίνας "Η Μεγαλόνησος").

MY WORLD TUESDAY: SUNSET FROM MY TERRACE

Yesterday was my husband's and my brother's-in-law celebration for their name day.

I stole a few moments and went to the terrace to take some shots by the sunset.

It was a windy sunset but so beautiful at the same time.

ABC WEDNESDAY: N for (film) NEGATIVES

I love photography.

I have thousands of pictures.

I started my photographic hobby with my parents' "Olympus".

When i got married, we bought a "Canon EOS 500".

With that camera i took the first photos of my kids and all our happy moments.

Although my husband bought a digital camera, i never gave up of my baby, my very own "Canon".

And, because of my love for photography, i kept and still keep all the film negatives.

The film negatives in this picture are this year's negatives.

OLD TOYS

When i was seven years old, my mom and dad bought me my very first playmobil.

It was the fire department.
(I borrowed the house from my girls for the shoting.)

From that day till my fifteens, i had many toys.

Every one of them includes so many memories.

They are my little treasure.

ABC WEDNESDAY: L for LION COUNTRY SAFARI

During our residence in Boca Raton, we visited the Lion Country Safari at Palm Beach County.

The fantastic with this place is that it looks like a real safari.

The animals live in groups into big, free areas and you can pass by and watch them from close.

You can almost feel their breath.

After the tour into the wild life, you can visit the park.

There, you can see aligators, snakes, monkeies or you can feed the animals at the petting zoo.

The kids loved this place.

They had great time at the coin operated machines.

And of course we enjoyed our lunch and the tour at the gift shop.

I wish i could show you more pictures.

After that wonderful day, and before our return to the house, we passed by the Lake Okkechobee.

Another beautiful place to visit.

TODAY'S FLOWERS: ROSES IN SNOW.

Last winter, everything in our garden were covered by the snow.

We live in an island and we had never seen so much snow.

Some of our plants ruined or badly injured by the snow and the low temperature.

But not the roses.

They managed to survive and keep on living.
