On Saturday (January 17th) we had two important events in our family.
The first was my daughter's Antonia and my father's Antonios celebration for their name day.
Agios Antonios was the greatest ascetic ( that's why the Orthodox Church gave him the name: GREAT.).
He was born into a wealthy family to Egypt in 251 and he died in 356, 105 years old.
When he was 20 years old, his parents died and he had to look after his sister.
He found her a home, a new family, he gave her some money to survive, he gave the rest of his possessions to the poor and those in need and he went to the desert to live alone with little food and prayers.
Even kings listened to those he had to say for God and religion.
The second event was the cuting of Vasilopita (i told you about Vasilopita before) of the Cretan Community of Salamina.
My two oldest daughters, Olga and Alexandra, danced Cretan dancings with other little ones.
And older kids danced with traditional clothes from Crete.

Sympathetic feast!
Are the guests dancing "Sirtaki"?
This dance was fashionable in France, a log time ago, after the famous film, and its famous music!(Zorba le grec , of course)
Hi Antigoni, I have an award for friendship for you! Have a very nice weekend!
You deserve it! You are always kind and very nice to other people. Yes of course you are emotional, because you live in a warmer country than we do. And we in our colder countries are also emotional, emotions hurt, but we cannot show them all the time. I cry when I see something happen to a child or an animal. I cry at funerals.
Your celebration seems to be great family fun. Your Father looks like a very sweet man. :-)
