I was very proud to say that i'm a Greek and i belong to the big European family.
I'm still proud of being Greek but not that i'm a European.
I've learnt as a Greek, that family supports you when you come up against hard times.
When you need friends to help you.
But not this time.
Not this family.
At a time that my country need the European support, everyone turned their back.
We made the strongest resistance against the Nazis at the WW2 and our country destroyed from the north to south.
And we managed to built our country all over again.
Without any help.
The only thing that the other countries did was to come and take our inheritance, our ancient treasures.
We didn't demand indemnification for the crimes of Nazis.
After all we became brothers in a united nation!
We opened our hearts and arms to all the foreigners that came to our land, for visit or ressidence.
But nothing of these count.
Not when money gets on the way.
I guess i'm too romantic.
I thought that other things are important.
It's really a pity!!!
to see other places of our world.

I do understand how and why you feel as you do, Antigoni. Unfortunately, in these times it's all about the money and so many other wonderful things get cast aside, not only in your world in Greece, but others. Still, I know Greece truly has some serious money problems right now and I do hope they can be rectified soon with a minimum of damage. I do hold good thoughts for you and your family!

I can understand how you feel and you should be proud of Greece and all that it has given to all of us. It's a shame that others are turning their back on you, but Greece will survive and, because of the Greeks, be stronger than ever.
Sadly money talks and who has more money talks more.

I am so sorry your beautiful country is suffering and has suffered in the past without getting help.
We see bad behavior here, too, within our own country. There's a selfishness and lack of community among people, even with their fellow countrymen. Even with their neighbors, sometimes.
In the end, we can only choose our own actions. I'm convinced that all the little things we do that are nice and help someone else add up. We may not save the world, or any part of it, in one action, but in the long run we'll be a stronger community and better people, and the world will be a little nicer place.
Oh Antigoni, I am so very sorry for what Greece is facing right now. I send my love and hugs to you, sister Marina, your family and all of Greece, and hope that things will get better very soon.
Sorry your country is going through such a hard time right now, Antigoni. Since I've livedin the States for so long, I have no idea what's going on politically in Europe. I am sure there will come solution, but the way to recovery may take longer than expected..

but I know how you feel.
politics are difficult.
I can't understand why one country has fight with another country.
and why we can't do something for our happieness together not only for a country?
always one country or other countries critisize other countries.
it's hard to understand about other cultures.
For instance Japan is critisized about hunting whales and dlphins.
I don't eat them but I wanna understand Japanese eat them since long time ago.
It's the same eating cows or chickens. we didn't use to eat cows.that's why they eat them.
anyway I wanna try to understand other countries'cultures and get along with them.
