MY WORLD TUESDAY: CARNIVAL

In my previous "My world" post, i promised to show you how we spent the carnival before the fast.
The carnival (we call it "Triodio) lasts four weeks.
We wear costumes and go to parties on Saturdays and Sundays.
My Japanese girl

My Queen of the sea

My little pirate

In Salamina we make a traditional dessert, the galaktoboureko.

On Friday before Kathari Deftera (Clean Monday), the girls had a party at school.
Every class prepared a small show, just for the students.
That's why i don't have any photos.
But i took a photo before the girls leave the house for the party.

On Sunday, the mayor organized a parade.
Many people, mostly students, participated to this parade with beautiful costumes and unique themes.

We had great time and the girls loved it.

i'm glad you were able to post about this. i was at my sickest during carnival time, and what upset me most was that my children didnt enjoy anything outdoors this year due to this. you know how men need their wives with them to go out for the day with the kids, otherwise they can't cope...

thanks for sharing your lovely day

Your daughters'costumes are so elaborated. Details make the difference.

It seems that fast is a great celebration in your world. It's certainly a fine time to visit your country. Is it the same in all big cities of Greece ? Or it just concerns your own city. In France, we get some cities in the South and Nord of France that organize wonderful Carnival, but every where else, it's just Lent with no celebration.

yes, her costume is like Japanese clothes.
it's very different from original Japanese clothes. but I know it's like Japanese!
